So be motivated and inspired to create to the glory of God with the power of God. Use the winning strategies offered in this playbook to become the best creative person that you have been create to be.
A.S.K.
It can’t be this simple, can it? Yes. It can. All we have to do is A.S.K. Ask. Knock. Seek. Everything that we need to be and do all that God has created us to be and do will be supplied by Him. He gives us His Holy Spirit; therefore, “it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” (Philippians 2:13)
Choose
God has given us the right to choose. We can choose Him or satan, obedience or rebellion, life or death. We must take our power to choose seriously and choose wisely. We must choose God, obedience, life.
We can also choose a goal, and by doing so, alter the course of our lives. Once we choose a goal, then it’s time to act. Write it; speak it; break it down to doable steps.
And don’t stress about getting everything right the first time. Or the second. Or the third. Just choose and act. You will improve; your skills will increase; you will grow.
Most importantly, commit it to God. “Commit your work to God and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)
Serve Soul Food
Here’s a free soul food recipe that requires absolutely no shopping, no chopping, no measuring or mixing. There is no frying, baking, sautéing, or broiling. And it has ZERO calories. But the results will fill you to overflowing and will satisfy the hungriest of souls.
Play that Music
Please do not leave this world without releasing the special music that only you can contribute to the symphony of life. Perhaps there is something that you always wanted to do or at least try. Something that is uniquely yours to make, to give life to. And if you don’t let it out, not only will you never know what you truly were capable of, but the part of the world where your music was supposed to be heard will remain silent.
Just be YOU
Not everyone will “get” you. And that’s okay. Actually, it’s more than okay. It’s right. It’s the way you will be able to be your authentic self. Your people will cheer you on, love you, appreciate your gifts, and celebrate you. And those who don’t will only make you appreciate those who do.
Be Grateful
We all have something to be grateful for. Each day is full of God’s tender mercies and amazing grace. We cannot always control our circumstance or the things that happen to us. But we can control our responses. We can choose to find reasons to thank and praise God.
Try this: When you are feeling down or life gets really tough, write 10 praises to God and say them over and over. It’s impossible to stay down when you lift up praises to God.
Place Your Hope in God
When God saved me, He did something so beautiful. He took my hurts, my pain, my shame and guilt away. But he left the memories of them with me. I now can look back over my life, and rather than lamenting and trying to turn away from anything that happened—be that it was done to me or that I messed up—I see the places that He touched and healed. I see God’s grace and mercy. As a result, the hurts from my past have given me a deeper appreciation for the hope that I have in God and the life I now live for God.
Let God do the same for you. He will give you your own “crown of beauty instead of ashes, oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” (Isaiah 61:3)
Pray. Pray Again. Pray Some More. Don’t Ever Stop Praying.
We have the most powerful weapon in this world to defeat the enemy: The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). This weapon has “divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4). So, pray in all seasons and at all times. Because the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)
Dream a God-Sized Dream
It’s far easier to stay the course if you have a dream or vision that excites you. And you will certainly be more enthusiastic about your own dream than you will ever be about anyone else’s. So dream. Dream big. Dream a great, big, God-sized dream and then trust God to guide you every step of the way to your dream becoming your reality.
Do Not Worry
We are given permission to give everything over to God through Jesus. And we are given His eternal promise to never abandon us:
- Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29)
- Cast all your worries on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
- Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
- I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:28)
- And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
In knowing that we are eternally safe with and cared for by God, we are free to live a life of abundance and freedom. We are free to walk on the path that God has set for us. It may not always be easy—I guarantee you that it won’t be easy—but we will never be alone. And it will all be worth it in the end. I guarantee it. Better yet, God guarantees it!
